The world of online “self-improvement” has changed a lot over the last decade, and not in a good way. What started as harmless grooming tips and simple skincare routines has turned into a culture obsessed with extreme appearance changes, drastic procedures, unregulated substances, and the constant pressure to engineer the “perfect” face and body.
In today's 'When Beauty Turns Ugly' i'll be talking about Clavicular, the 20-year-old influencer who has become the poster boy for the most extreme end of this trend. His entire online identity is built on the idea that your value is determined almost entirely by your appearance. From bone smashing to testosterone at 14, unregulated peptides, stimulants, and even medical-grade meth, he has become the face of an online world that claims to be about self-improvement but ends up doing the exact opposite.
Today i'll be covering how the internet’s obsession with optimisation pushed self-improvement to these extremes. Why young men are going to dangerous lengths to change their faces and bodies and the escalating pipeline from peptides to steroids to harmful stimulants.
But....why so many people saying that Clavicular now looks like he’s “decomposing”?! Its probably the he misogyny, racism, and manipulation embedded in his soul and this culture he thrives in. But....why are young men following someone who is visibly falling apart...both in life and the looks department?!
When self-improvement becomes an obsession, the consequences show up in your health, your appearance, and your mindset. And in Clavicular’s case, we’re seeing the impact play out publicly and in real time.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to look better. There is nothing wrong with skincare, fitness, or taking pride in your appearance. But when someone convinces you that your happiness depends on dangerous procedures, injections you bought online, or extreme shortcuts to change how you look, that’s not self-care anymore nor is it self improvement.... its typical influencer exploitation.
