Dubai Creek Striders' premarathon traditional run

This video was captured on January 17th 2014, one week before Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2014. In the video, Dubai Creek Striders are running the yearly traditional premarathon run starting from the usual car park facing the Novotel Hotel and going towards Dubai Creek from Deira's side and then crossing the Dubai Creek toward Bur Dubai's side using Abras (the Arabic word for a Boat).

The challenge was to break DCS previous year record of 9 Abras (192 runners)... and DCS succeeded in their mission with a total of 10 abras and a total of 203 runners who joined DCS' traditional premarathon run.

2- Dubai is beautiful.and is not only about gigantic malls and skyscrapers... Dubai has lovely people and a unique culture (even if Dubai is a young city)

3- You will be able to see and feel the beauty of the running spirit...

4- and the question "why do you run?" will have many answers... It could be... to see the sun rise while running with like minded friendly and lovely people... or to have few hours of the week to relax and let go of all the stress... or to meet new friends... or to simply maintain a healthy life-style...
