While you await the Tesla Cybertruck, a new startup called Aitekx has introduced its own electric vehicle at the LA Auto Show. The company, emphasizing its focus on the AI mobility future with the name AI + Tech + X, unveiled the Robotruck. Set to release in 2025, the vehicle boasts optimistic specifications, including a 550-mile EPA range, a 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 125 mph. Despite being a newcomer, Aitekx aims to make its mark in the electric vehicle market.

Aitekx mentions that the truck's length will range from 188 to 198 inches, depending on the configuration, with a width of 76.6 inches. While not matching the dimensions of the Cybertruck, which we recently discovered is considerably longer and wider, the Robotruck is expected to feature a 6-foot bed, akin to the Cybertruck. Despite being approximately two feet shorter than its counterpart, Robotruck also asserts it will incorporate a mid-gate, allowing for the extension of the bed by folding down the seats – a feature originally claimed by Tesla but not elaborated on since.

This represents an initial prototype, and adjustments are likely during potential production. Aitekx asserts that these prototypes are operational and already on the road. However, given the LED light strips for taillights and panel gaps reminiscent of Tesla's release candidates, there is skepticism about whether this prototype is entirely authentic. Nonetheless, unlike a situation with a 14-day release timeframe, Aitekx provides a longer timeline. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, Aitekx plans to focus on custom-order vehicles initially, aiming to eventually reach the $40,000 range. In response to questions about achieving this with a potentially 200+ kWh battery, Aitekx expressed openness to future technological advancements, acknowledging that the evolving landscape might offer unexpected possibilities. With two years ahead, the unfolding developments will determine the outcome.
