Ultrasounds applications and properties are covered in this video with real-life examples.

What is Ultrasound?
Ultrasound or ultrasonic sound is that sound whose frequency is more than the upper limit of audible range i.e. 20KHz. It should be noted that the properties of ultrasounds are similar to that of a normal audible sound.

Applications or Uses of Ultrasound:

Among the various applications of ultrasound, some of the top uses are:

1. In SONAR (Sound Navigation, and Ranging) to detect, navigate, and communicate underwater.

2. Used by bats to navigate which is called echolocation

3. In ultrasonography to image internal body structures

4. To detect cracks and defects in buildings and bridges

There are several other uses of ultrasounds. In fact, in the present generation, ultrasounds are playing major roles various sectors be it medical, construction, or in defense. To learn further applications of ultrasounds, check this article-
