Cloaks and fabrics are personally challenging. Normally these would get airbrushed, but the push to improve means forcing brush-only techniques. Twenty minutes of glazing for barely noticeable progress is the reality of high-level fabric painting.

The key insight: sketch the highlights in with the next brightest color, then glaze over to blend. Let each layer dry completely before adding the next—tearing previous work is the enemy of smooth finishes.
