We bought this Discovery 3 to drive 2000 miles to the highest point in the Alps. Are we crazy?

We challenegd oursleves to buy a Discovery 3 and drive it to the highest driveable point in the Alps, a 2000 mile round trip - all for just £3000. It's the price of a family holiday, so wouldn't it be great to take a camping trip to the Alps and still have a Discovery 3 to show for it at the end. That's the plan and we'll be auctioning off the Discovery at the end of the challange with £1500 worth of tools and accessories, with the support of Sealey Tools.

We've started well, finding an abandoned Discovery 3 at auction and grabbing it for just £750 with auction fees.
