I’ve always prioritized wellness, but the lessons and perspective that I’ve gained while being at Dimensions in Algonquin have been life changing.
MIND
I’ve learned new practices and techniques to enhance my mental wellness during my stay. I use to think I couldn’t meditate for longer than 2 minutes. I use to be very restless and I wasn’t able to keep my mind quiet. But now, at Dimensions, I’ve done four meditative sessions that lasted one hour each. I practiced biosound therapy, sound healing, soma breath therapy, massage therapy, and Qi Gong meditation. I was so happy to discover other forms of meditation that is better suited for my mind.
BODY
I only stayed for about 2 days and my body already feels different. I feel relaxed, nourished, and cleansed. I feel like because of the drinks, meals, and meditative practices my body has truly gone through a cleanse in every sense of the word. I feel lighter and inspired to go deeper within my wellness journey at home.
SOUL
During the healing sessions, I felt fears arise and I was taught to breathe through them. These were my overall themes that I discovered about myself at Dimensions: I am worthy, I am enough, I am safe, to trust my journey, breathe through the anxiety and fears to allow them to pass, not to judge my thoughts, and to stay true to who I am. As well as, to not compare myself to others and to know life is not a race.
I have learned to rest, reset, and transform. 🦋
