The Time Sam Darnold Stunned #5 Penn State

#9 USC faced #5 Penn State in the 2017 Rose Bowl. In a back and forth game the Trojans found themselves in a two touchdown deficit in the fourth quarter. With a minute left Darnold threw a dime to Deontay Burnett for a touchdown to tie the game at 49. USC then intercepted it and marched down the field for Matt Boermeester to kick the game winning field goal. USC won the Rose Bowl 52-49. Darnold finished the game going 33-53 for 453 yards and five touchdowns.
