এই শীতলতম স্থানটির নাম হচ্ছে ওইমিয়াকন। আধা গ্রাম আধা শহর। এটি রাশিয়ার একটি দুর্গম শহর, যেটিকে দুনিয়ার সবচেয়ে শীতল শহর বলা হয়, সেই শহরের মানুষদের অবস্থা চিন্তা করুন। শীতকালে তার তাপমাত্রা নেমে যায় হিমাঙ্কের ৭১ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াসের নিচে। এ সময় শহরটিতে এতটাই ঠাণ্ডা থাকে যে, মোবাইল ফোন কাজ করে না। কলমের কালিও জমে যায়। রাশিয়ার ওইমিয়াকন নামে ওই শহরে বাস করে ৫০০ পরিবার। জানুয়ারি মাসে এই গ্রামের স্বাভাবিক তাপমাত্রা গড়ে ৫০ ডিগ্রির নিচে। এই শহরটি এখন বিশ্বের শীতলতম শহরে স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে।
