With The United States constantly threatening to build and American Wall along the southern border with Mexico, it's amazing to visit a similar wall that defined an entire generation, that in 1961 split the city of Berlin in two. The Berlin Wall is a relic of cold war insanity that has been reclaimed by the present forward thinking generation and converted into a symbol of hope, unity and humanity. It's fantastic to walk the stretch where the wall still exists, now covered in politically charged graffiti and street art. What's also pretty spectacular is seeing the difference, still very present today, how the East and West factions of Berlin were. That's why we say no trip to Berlin is complete without seeing the Berlin Wall.
