It’s all connected: a Nature Recovery Network for Cornwall

Описание к видео It’s all connected: a Nature Recovery Network for Cornwall

A thriving natural world is essential for our health, happiness, climate, and future. From healthy soil to grow food, fresh air to breathe, clean water to drink, and wild spaces to enjoy, nature’s health affects us all. We face an ecological and climate crisis.

Habitat loss, disturbance and pollution have all contributed to wildlife decline - it is a global challenge which requires action at international, national and local levels to improve. In Cornwall farmland birds like skylarks have declined by nearly 30% in the last 25 years. We have globally significant species of wildlife on our doorstep and we can restore and re-create habitats to encourage species back; for example, the Cornish chough returned after an absence of 28 years when cliff-top grasslands were enhanced.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust sees the need for a Nature Recovery Network. This means protecting and creating larger areas of habitat that are connected by wildlife corridors – ensuring land is actively being put into recovery for nature’s benefit. By mapping the current environment and highlighting opportunities for change, we can help ensure a Wilder Future.

It's all connected....

This is our vision.
