Today I got some insane real-time coaching from my upline Blake Lawson at First Class Agency (under Playbook).
We were on a call helping a 79-year-old veteran who still has a $500,000 mortgage.
He wanted to protect his wife… but at his age, $500k term is tough and he already has an existing term that expires at the age of 85.
Blake helped me role play the call scenario for when I call him back this afternoon:
“Rob, my job is to be honest with you — whether it’s good news or bad news.
Do I have permission to be honest?”
Then he walked me through the strategy:
Term coverage at 79? Hard to qualify.
IUL? Possible, but expensive and must be structured right.
Keeping the existing term? Maybe.
But the smartest move most veterans make:
Get enough coverage to keep their spouse in the home for 6 months to 2 years,
so she’s protected while coping — no panic sale, no foreclosure.
