Living in one of the poorest cities in the country, you can guarantee to come across back stabbers, loss of friends, phony relationships, depression, and a desire to make it. These are all the things that artist Jus Larent battled with since childhood. With his father being enlisted in the army, Jus ended up born in a military hospital down in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, moving to Memphis, to Germany then to Milwaukee. Changing schools so much meant a lot of loss of friendships with having to adapt to so many new places, and the only way to escape the reality of not being so settle was music. At a young age Jus Larent would record music videos on his VCR, rewrite the lyrics, and recite them exactly how the artist would perform it. When it came time for him to write his own lyrics, he found himself mimicking a lifestyle that was completely different from his, writing about fancy cars, money & material things. The wrong crowd encouraged him to go that route, saying it was the only way to get heard, but it just didn't fit. So he took a hiatus from writing raps, and dove headfirst into poetry, realizing that he could take the deep thoughts from his mind, and put them to paper in a rhythm. Eventually he would get back to writing raps, forming his own flow through multiple studio sessions, and creating lyrical wordplay that told a story about him, and what he went through in his life. He knew most people wouldn't want to really hear reality rap all he time, so he took the time to study metaphors, and came up with a different style where he could display lyrical talent over trap style beats, while at the same time not straying away from who he really was. With a new focus on life, Jus Larent is preparing himself to get back on track where he left off, and continue to pursue his musical dreams.
