The 13th Judson Korean Scholarship Fundraising Concert scheduled for March 29, 2020 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19. In place of this event, and to thank all the supporters of the scholarship, pianist Sojung Hong and baritone Ghibong Kim collaborated remotely from their homes under a Shelter-In-Place order and recorded separately their voice and piano parts of fifteen Korean children’s songs. Mingyeong Kim, a piano student at Judson University’s Performance Certificate in Music program remotely took care of the mixing/mastering. Our hearts go out to all the national and community leaders and health professionals fighting against the virus in the frontlines. As we continue to do our part, we pray that these simple songs will touch the hearts of listeners and unite all of us in childlike purity and humility. Special thanks go to LG Electronics, Magic Chef, The Korea Times Chicago, and Seoul National University Alumni Association of Chicago Area for their consistent contributions for the Judson Korean Music Scholarship Fund to support young musicians’ education and their future.
