LA CATEDRAL- A.Barrios. Rafael Aguirre (Guitar)

Queridos amigos! Estoy muy feliz de presentaros este vídeo que cuenta visualmente la historia de esta obra maestra, por estar grabado cada movimiento en un sitio diferente. "La Catedral" fue compuesta por Barrios en 1921 mientras vivía en Montevideo (Uruguay) 🇺🇾 y originalmente la obra constaba de dos movimientos, los que hoy en día se conocen como el segundo y el tercero.

Posteriormente en 1939 estando en La Habana (Cuba), añadió lo que es el primer movimiento. En este primer movimiento, titulado Preludio (Saudade) hay una nostalgia y es la sensación antes de entrar a la Catedral. El segundo movimiento "Andante religioso" se dice que Barrios anda por la Catedral escuchando a un organista que tocaba Bach. 🎻

Por último el tercer movimiento "Allegro solemne" representa a Barrios saliendo de la Catedral y sintiendo todo el bullicio de la plaza y sus gentes. Espero os guste mucho el vídeo!

Dear friends! I am very happy to present this video that visually tells the story of this masterpiece, recording each movement in a different place. "La Catedral" was composed by Barrios in 1921 while he was living in Montevideo (Uruguay) 🇺🇾 and originally the work consisted of two movements, which today are known as the second and third.

Later in 1939 while in Havana (Cuba), he added what is now the first movement. In this first movement, entitled Preludio (Saudade) there is a nostalgia and it is the feeling before entering the Cathedral. The second movement "Andante Religioso" represents Barrios walking through the Cathedral, listening to an organist playing Bach. 🎻
