En el año 1995 el Cabo Luis Muñoz Torres, "calorro"; cantó este tema esporádicamente por primera vez en la procesión del Cristo de la Buena Muerte ( Málaga ) sin permiso de los oficiales y arriesgándose a ser arrestado pues se salía del guión, haciendo algo que en un principio no le estaba permitido. De ésta manera, convencido de que era un homenaje digno de tan importante homenajeado la cantó con una gran acogida entre el pueblo malagueño, dado el éxito entre los asistentes a la procesión, está colombiana, se convirtió en otro "himno" de la Legión en semana santa.
El éxito fue tal, que al volver al acuartelamiento, en lugar de ser reprendido por haberse saltado una orden, fue premiado con unas vacaciones merecidas. Había nacido un nuevo himno legionario.
