The Botanical Dutch Pour is a pouring technique created
by Tina Sellek with Tina’s Inspired Art in 2021.

The Botanical Dutch Pour is a fresh ground breaking Acrylic pouring technique. It is The Dutch Pour created by @RinskeDouna only leveled up a notch with an intricate painting process that incorporates visual elements of nature to help your eyes see natural elements within each piece of art.

This Art Technique involves: Using a combination of Acrylics mixed with Floetrol, drawing intricate line designs onto a base of interior house paint, using a blow dryer to carefully blow out the overlapping colors, forming plant-like images, finished by taking the end of a paintbrush to coax natural elements into the designs.

Fluid Arts have exploded in popularity due to the spectacular results, amazing effects, and captivating use of negative space that this technique offers. Even though this technique is still in its early stages, its versatility and ability to unlock the potential for unlimited designs and self-expression has made it a firm favorite in the world of fluid art.

Dutch Pours Reference Recipes & Techniques
My Base paints: I use a variety of base interior paints to do my dutch pour. The tip to remember is to ensure it is very pigmented and is an interior base paint. You can use any color that you prefer. I use Walmart brand color smart, Glidden and Home Depot brand called Pro contractor interior paint. I find all three of these brands require a little thinning with water prior to using but have found them to be my favorites for quality and price. I typically flood my canvas with the base layer by pouring a thin layer over my entire canvas while using a silicone spatula and sometimes a squeeze bottle to cover my edges as needed. The Tip here is to ensure your consistency is similar to thin honey to where the paint drips off a stirring stick but does not mound in your paint container. The paint should just melt into what paint is in the container. If it is too thick, add water in small amounts as necessary to thin your consistency.

Fluid Acrylic Paints:
The individual paints that I put on top of my base are mixed with Floetrol as 3:1. Three parts Floetrol, 1 part paint. I only use water to thin is needed but most often not necessary.

Thankyou all for your support!!
