Cosma conducts underwater infrastructure inspection in Île du Levant, France.

Integrity checks can now be carried out directly from the office or from home, by browsing Cosma’s data-sharing interface to visualize all images where the pipeline appears. A baseline environmental survey was delivered from the same datasets, assessing before major repair work begins on the infrastructure.

"The inspection was successfully completed thanks to rigorous organization and the continuous commitment of the COSMAS expert team, brought into the project after facilitating the connection between the client’s needs and their expertise. Working with this team of specialists was a real pleasure and helped to push the boundaries of traditional technical inspection.
The project brought complementary skills in robotics, marine biology, and measurement acquisition. Data collection was carried out using autonomous underwater drones covering more than 1.4 hectares, and over 38,000 photographs were analyzed.
Within the scope of the technical inspection mission, the results went far beyond a simple photographic survey of existing conditions. A comprehensive inspection report of the submarine pipeline and the environment of the wastewater pipeline outfall was produced.
COSMAS released the report on the benthic communities, while a parallel analysis focused on the condition of the pipeline. Continuous photographic and photogrammetric coverage of the benthic communities around the effluent diffuser was also delivered to the end client.
The final deliverable exceeds the initial objectives while fully meeting cost, schedule, and mission requirements."
