It's said Leadership is done from the front (literally lead), if you get cute you can say you lead from the back and let your team shine

And Management is done from the side or back

Leadership is about people and soft skils
Management is about tasks and activities

Leadership can be more emotionally driven
Management is more operationally driven

But which is better?

Might be a trick question.

How about - Which one better suits you?

(pause for dramatic effect)

Are you more of a hard skills person? Good news, there are a ton of managerial opportunities out there for you and you'd probably be great at it.

Do you see yourself as more of a leader? Great with people and communication and relationships?

You will be challenged with being a visionary, building trust, and being an impeccable communicator.

But then leadership is right for you.

Can you be both? Absolutely. Do they have to be separate? Absolutely not.

It really isn't much of a great debate at all.
