Teresa Molina and Javier Alegre are 2021 winners of the RWJF Award for Health Equity. Teresa is Associate Director at University Neighborhood Partners and Assistant Professor, College of Social Work at the University of Utah while Javier is the Executive Director of Latino Behavioral Health Services. The Latino Behavioral Health Services partnership in Salt Lake City seeks to improve behavioral health and well-being among culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) communities and end systemic inequities. In this video, Teresa and Javier discuss how the services provided are “Latino led and provided,” the uniqueness of the peer-to-peer model, and the importance of “bridging the language” to develop partnerships between different organizations.
