Fishing Line To Remove Cracked Car Windshield - Plus Prepping For Replacement

Описание к видео Fishing Line To Remove Cracked Car Windshield - Plus Prepping For Replacement

In this episode, I remove the damaged windshield or windscreen as some say. Damaged previously caused by an unfortunate series of events when removing the weather stripping. I decided to approach this removal using fishing line, 50lbs to be exact. I had seen a few videos online and decided to give it a try. And the main reason I went with this method was to minimize the chances of the tool scratching my freshly painted surfaces. Overall the fishing line can be a little trickier as it has a tendency of snapping, mainly on the corners as they consist of the thickest amount of window glue. But with time and patience, I was able to remove the windshield and moved onto prepping the area for paint. The area luckily was not heavily rusted in comparison to reveals on the rest o the vehicle which saved me time and overall made me happier. First I started by using the straight blade to remove the thicker leftover seal and brought it as far down as possible to the metal or factory paint. In doing so it saved me even more time grinding that leftover material. After grinding away I wiped the surface with a solvent and moved onto applying more leftover POR15 from old projects. Few coats and I was done, overall a 10 dollar wire to remove a windshield. Now I got to find a new one, but its just nice to have that ear sore off the civic.
