If you are searching for another place to visit in Cambodia, other than Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh, look no farther than Kampot. Located in the southern part of the country, just a few kilometers from the Gulf of Thailand, the city of 50,000 people is a laid-back destination that is growing in popularity.

There is plenty to see and do. You can visit area pepper plantations and salt farms, walk along the Preaek Tuek Chhu River and explore the Phnom Kbal Romeas caves. Possibly the most satisfying thing to do, however, is try the many dishes featuring Kampot Pepper. That's sometimes called the best pepper in the world.
