Coho Salmon Shore Fishing with Prime Lures Spoons on Tidal Fraser River

FIRST TIME FOR TIDAL RIVER COHO Fishing in November with Spoons from Shore.

HUGE SHOUTOUT TO @bigtime.fishermen who put the bug in my ear a few days ago that the coho are still coming in with the tidal changes, even though the opening of the fishery was so late.

Thanks to www.primelures.com for creating this amazing spoons for an excellent price point. High quality REAL SILVER Finish and a strong Mustad Siwash Hook.

This is an unusual year with the late rains and long extended summer. The low flow levels have delayed some of the returns. But now that the rains are here, the fish are taking advantage of the scenario and pushing up before it gets too late.

This is a new fishery to me even though @fishing_with_rod has told me many times about years past catching many coho during a single tide change.

Seems all it takes is a good spoon, a tide chart and a little patience.

It was pouring rain today and when I arrived @bigtime.fishermen gave me a dismal report of no bites in hours. I headed down and caught the first one before they were packed up. Then it went quiet for a while. About the last hour of reverse flow right up until it stopped was great action!

I was using a @primelures silver/brass 12 gram spoon and it hooked me 3 hatchery and 6 wild coho. The limit is 2 hatchery coho. I tried twitching a jig from @jig_geek, but I'm not sure if my color was wrong or what, but they preferred the spoon today.

I know twitching works on the Tidal river because I did great before catching pink salmon with jigs.

As exciting as it was to be out catching Coho, I know this is a very temporary fishery. It could just end any day. Especially since I expect the runs to tail off quite quickly after all this rain we have received. Plus it's November. The trickle continues, but likely not very catchable on the Tidal portion.

Thanks for reading... and thanks to @bigtime.fishermen for the report. Please go check out and follow him for more outdoor adventure photos.
