The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best First EDF Jet RC Plane

Описание к видео The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best First EDF Jet RC Plane

If you have been flying small rc foamie planes for a while and are looking to 'push your limits' a small bit then you might be looking at some exciting EDF options. There are so many beautiful looking 'jets' that seem like loads of fun but might just be a bit harder to handle. First off most EDF's require plenty of airflow through their motors to gain lift, they also tend to be a bit more expensive. Its hard to know about motor size - 50mm 64mm 80mm and bigger, so what do you do?
Ive picked two good options to consider - The Lippisch is very popular by alot of edf pilots, its affordable, compact, can use relatively small cheap batteries starting at 1000mah 3s and has a wide flight envelope. You dont even have to bother with rudder control. It looks like it has it all, but and its a big BUT... is it a bit too 'twitchy' for a first time edf pilot?
Second option is the Red Arrows 50 mm Jet - It looks beautiful ( i sprayed mine day glo orange to make it easier to see), it too is very affordable, has a smaller edf 50mm, and also can use a range of cheap batteries from 1000 mah 3s to 1000mah 4s - i was surprised that the esc could handle this, just dont go full throttle all the time .
Both planes are serious options, I hope this video helps you if you are looking to take this next step . - happy flying
