An old school method of making controlled descents with students, whether you are in a heavy current, or water deeper than you need to conduct training dives, the "Instructor Leg Wrap" allows an Instructor to be hands free to assist students while still being attached to a line. By simply flatting out your foot, you will be locked into place until you are ready to ascend or descend. Once you are ready to move again, simply straighten your foot out, and you can easily ascend or descend at will.
