Social stealth from the old school Assassin's Creed games makes a glorious return in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. Certain cities, towns and villages in England are under the control of christian Anglo-Saxons. These cities , such as Ledecestre (Leicester) seen in this video don't tolerate pagans in their territory, and especially not vikings. You will have to keep a low profile if you don't want to get a city-wide alert where every single soldier and guard in the area comes after you.

To do this, always wear a cloak. The cloak and hood will cover your face, making it harder for the enemies to recognize you. It is advised to keep a good distance away from the guards and preferably have your back or side in their direction. Because they will recognize you if they see your face from close range. Walking slowly may also help reduce unwanted attention from them. If a guard is about to detect you, it is adviced to just quickly run away. This will usually shake them off without blowing your cover. While wearing your cloak, you can also perform certain actions that allow you to blend in with your environment. You can join a group of monks and pretend to be one of them, you can sit on benches or you can pretend to be working.

But the best one yet is this: find some local drunks and pretend to offer drinks to them. When you refuse, they will start to loudly yell at you and luring all guards in the immediate vicinity to check on the situation. This will give you a distraction that you can use to slip past guards unseen.
