👋 Hey there, I’m Barrie J Davies, a Brighton based street pop artist who thrives on creating bold, colourful, and playful artwork bursting with energy. My practice blends the worlds of street art, pop art, graffiti, and urban art into a vibrant mash-up that’s equal parts cheeky, funny, and thought-provoking. I love making work that mixes humour, satire, and quirky cultural references with bright, explosive visuals, giving each piece a personality that feels alive and unapologetically fun.

I started out experimenting with painting, screen printing, and mixed media, playing with spray paint, acrylics, glitter, and collage techniques. Over time, my work has developed into a kaleidoscopic fusion of influences, pulling inspiration from pop surrealism, contemporary art, lowbrow art, cartoons, comic books, advertising, and everyday urban life. You’ll find me layering stencils, textures, and found materials to create everything from hand-painted canvases to limited-edition art prints that buzz with neon colours and playful chaos.

I’m fascinated by the clash of high art and low culture, kitsch and cool, silly and serious — and my work leans right into that tension. By remixing elements from graffiti, street posters, retro graphics, pop culture icons, and urban signage, I create playful compositions that tell weird and wonderful visual stories. My collages often repurpose comic strips, pop advertising, and quirky ephemera, transforming them into surreal pop art narratives with a glittery, tongue-in-cheek twist.

At its heart, my art isn’t just about how it looks — it’s about how it makes you feel. I want my work to be a burst of joy, a spark of humour, or simply something that makes you stop, smile, and look again. Whether it’s a graffiti-inspired canvas, a neon-splashed painting, or a silly pop art print, my aim is always to inject colour, humour, and mischief into a world that can often take itself too seriously.

Living and working in Brighton, a city buzzing with street art, creative culture, and vibrant energy, has had a huge impact on my practice. The raw, expressive spirit of Brighton’s graffiti scene mixed with its playful, anything-goes attitude constantly fuels my imagination. My paintings and prints are like a visual celebration of chaos, colour, and comedy — a reminder to embrace the silly, the surreal, and the joyfully ridiculous.
