Dust Sans was killing frisk in a endless loop, after this, sans goes crazy obsessed with power, so he takes human souls and breaks the barrier leaving frisk behind
(Note: all monsters in the underground have already been killed)
and on the surface the sans starts killing several humans to steal the soul getting stronger and stronger

additional notes: because of his high level of power, sans started to look distorted, making him look like an anomaly.
