A Flash Flood Emergency has been issued in Eustis and Mount Dora after several inches of rain have fallen in several spots. Along the coast line -- Brevard County and Lake County -- flash flooding has been reported in several areas, according to officials and forecasters.
Intense rainfall of 14 to 19 inches caused a surge of stormwater that breached two stormwater retention ponds resulting in the collapse of Donnelly Street.
There is no evidence of sinkhole activity; however, washouts also occurred at the Waterman Village community, Old Eustis Road, and Wolf Branch Road.
The precautionary boil water notice remains in effect for all Mount Dora residents. Water samples were taken yesterday morning (10/27), and results are expected after 48 hours. When water samples are confirmed clear by the laboratory. Residents will be notified once the notice is lifted.
