It’s time for an almighty VAN DRAG RACE!

We’ve got Mat in the all-new Ford Transit, and he’s about to face off against a VW Transporter and a Peugeot Expert!

So let’s see how the three compare. Starting with the Transit, it’s powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 170hp and 360Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed auto, and the Transit is both the heaviest and most expensive van here, coming in at 2,200kg and £32,000 respectively.

Alongside it, we have the Transporter. It’s also equipped with a 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel, although in this case, it puts down 204hp and 450Nm. It’s fitted with a 7-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels, and it weighs in at 2,005kg. As new, it costs around £28,000.

Then finally we have the Peugeot. Once again it comes fitted with a 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel, and this produces 180hp and 400Nm. It’s equipped with a 6-speed automatic gearbox that powers the front wheels, and it weighs in at just 1,657kg. It’s also the cheapest van here, costing around £23,000.
