📌Pro’s & Con’s to learning to ski in Bansko, Bulgaria 👇🏼

We went to Bansko with two goals — learn how to ski and to not break the bank. We think we were successful in both!

Here are the pro’s and con’s of heading to Bulgaria to learn how to ski:

Pro’s:
-If you are starting from scratch (like we were) you don’t need to purchase a lift ticket for your first day. You can drive, or hop in a shuttle organized by your equipment shop, up to the bunny hills and practice starting, stopping, and turns.
-There are affordable ski lessons in Bansko, especially if you’re with a group.
-There isn’t a major cost incentive to getting a pass if you’re more comfortable doing one day at a time
-Cost of gear rental/pass/lessons are cheaper than the average European resort

Con’s:
-There aren’t many ‘easy’ blues (or greens) which means you’ll be doing the easy blue many times which can get repetitive if you’re there for more than a few days
-It’s a smaller resort, so there isn’t much variety in runs

All in all, we think it’s a great place to learn to ski without having to have a massive budget!
