The IRS will be hiring nearly 300 new Special Agents in FY 2022. To be qualified, applicants must either have experience in conducting complex financial investigations or have a GPA of 3.0 or higher with courses in accounting, finance, tax and business law and similar as stated on the vacancy announcement. IRS Special Agents work on Task Forces led by FBI, DEA, ICE and other agencies and do the financial work up on targets. In addition, they also target those who simply do not pay their taxes.
