Nur 18 Tage später fiel er am 07.06.1916.

He died only 18 days later on 7 June 1916.

a little flower blooms red.
Soon, too soon I'll be dead,
Soon, too soon.

2. A little piece of lead
will take my worries away.
I don't care if it's
today or tomorrow.

3. Far down the valley
three spades dig.
Dig a cool grave
for a soldier.

4. Over in the twilight,
somewhere in the little town,
where in the chamber
some girl cries.

5. A little flower blooms red
lonely in the forest.
Soon, very soon I'll be dead,
soon, very soon.
