In its inaugural year, I named Hardin’s Creek “Jacob’s Well” my “Bourbon of the Year” for 2022. I thought that blend of 15 year high-rye & 16-year-old traditional Beam bourbons was a feat that they likely wouldn’t repeat (given the lengthy maturations). But to my great surprise, they followed that up with four 17-year-old bottlings named Clermont, Boston Frankfort & now 211-month Jacob’s Well! The Clermont, Boston & Frankfort were meant to showcase the difference of rickhouse locations in what the brand calls “Kentucky Terroir.” Now at the very end of 2023, they released an older Hardin’s Creek “Jacob’s Well” that is bottled 1 point higher (109 proof) with a retail price of around $185-$200 - but I’m sure we’ll see these routinely marked up to $300-$350. This 211-month-old version is comprised of 17-year-old high-rye and 18-year-old Traditional Beam bourbons. Let’s taste both of them side-by-side to see how the addition aging effected this new release.

If you join my Patreon channel (www.patreon.com/liquorhound), you'll get a bunch more insider information and great bottle purchase suggestions that don't make my regular YouTube videos. Beyond that, you'll get all my videos add-free & 2 weeks early, have access to my giveaways and a huge private review library (that's never been on YouTube), and of course all my "Patron Only" bonus content reviews!

As of January 2024, my current bottle count is over 2,600. I am a Certified Specialist of Spirits and have also been accredited by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT). I've been actively collecting for three decades and what started as a small basic home bar has transformed (with the help and understanding of my wonderful wife) into this collection and career. Speaking of my career, our “Saints Alley" Bourbons & Rye whiskeys are on Total Wine shelves and customers are really enjoying them (be sure to ask for a sample when you're in the stores)! Currently, our Special Editions are moving fast and winning awards! So, keep an eye out for our "Nobleman Rye", the White Port & Cognac finished Bourbon, and our Special Edition "Herald" Bourbon that adds Pineau Des Charentes casks to the mix. It was just named "The Best Overall Bourbon" in a blind competition at Tales of the Cocktail's - 2023 New Orleans Spirit Competition! It won over a lot of really big names, and it just goes to show that when you take the big money branding away, our Saints Alley whiskeys can stand on their own! Given my decades of consumer experience, you know I’m working hard with my team to bring you whiskeys that we’re all proud of! Thanks for watching and please remember to drink responsibly. Cheers!
