Among our recently rescued cases, today I want to tell you about Purrl—the most critical of the new arrivals.

One night, while taking out the trash, our Romanian Rescue Hero Simona, almost tripped over a tiny, motionless body on the sidewalk. It was Purrl—apathetic, nearly comatose, frighteningly thin. Her body was ice cold, her mouth full of ulcers, and her eyes lifeless.

And yet, the moment she felt human touch… she purred. That’s how she got her name.

Simona kept her alive through the night with first aid, until she could be rushed to the clinic. Tests showed severe infection, liver and pancreatic damage, and while FIP is suspected, other possibilities are still being investigated.

She’s young, just about 2 years old and little by little, she’s started to eat again. But her fight isn’t over. She’s still very fragile, and every day is a battle to keep her alive.

We don’t know her past, but we want to give her a future. Purrl deserves the chance to live, to heal, and to finally be loved.
