Is Dead Island REALLY Worth Playing In 2022?

So i played Dead Island in 2022 and Dead Island is definitely not what I expected.

After the announcement of Dead Island 2 i had to check out the original Dead Island that released over a decade ago.

Dead Island released in 2011 but has had a few different editions released over the years so I decided to check it out for the first time in 2022 and to say I was surprised is a understatement.

Dead Island was created by techland the same team that went on to create the Dying Light franchise which has been successful overall so i was expecting Dead Island to be as good or slightly worse than Dying Light which was definitely not what I played...

So is Dead Island worth playing in 2022? Has Dead Island aged well after all these years or has Dead Island been wiped out by time?

Is the gameplay of Dead Island any good in 2022? Has Dying Light made Dead Island redundant gameplay wise?

Is Dead Island as good as some people say after all these years and does the definitive edition make any substantial improvements?
