The Defendant appeals against the order made on 13 May 2024 by Sweeting J committing him to prison for breach of the orders of Mr Healy-Pratt (sitting a Deputy HCJ) and Mr Dexter Dias KC dated 12/5/23 (sitting as Deputy High Court Judge).

The D was committed to prison for 9 months in respect of each of the 2 contempts and the sentences are to run concurrently.

The D is not appealing the finding of contempt.

D submits that the judge should have imposed a suspended sentence. in light of D’s persuasive personal mitigation and his desire to purge any ongoing contempt.
