Young Henrys x Pocket City Farms

Описание к видео Young Henrys x Pocket City Farms

At Young Henrys one of the most important parts of our mission is low impact brewing. We’re always stoked to get behind other members of our community creating projects sharing this ethos. Meet Pocket City Farms; a not-for-profit initiative that takes over neglected, unused spaces and turns them into farms.

The latest collaboration between Camperdown Commons, Acre Eatery & Pocket City Farms has resulted in an urban farm and community hub in the heart of Sydney’s inner west. An array of fresh organic crops now sprout from the once deserted bowling greens of the Camperdown Bowling Club, and will soon sell fresh produce to the local community too.

Beyond picking up the freshest produce available in the inner city, you can also learn about farming and food growing in one of the many workshops or bring the family out for a meal. The restaurant in the project, Acre Eatery plays the role of the ‘farmers home’ and gets the food on the table as fast as is possible. The space is complete with large open plan outdoor seating, and plenty of place to sun, shelter and shade.

Young Henrys was stoked to be invited to make use of the first produce from Pocket City Farms, 180kg of Queensland Blue Pumpkins that were snuck in among the summer cover crops. Once the pumpkins were harvested, they were cooked by Acre head chef Gareth Howard, and then poured into a brew to create a delicious Spiced Pumpkin Ale.
