How To Typewriter Platen. Most platens do not need new rubber, they need a new surface of rubber. This is how I re wrap most of the old platens on the typewriters that come across my bench. This will bring an old typewriter back to life like nothing else.

The Heat Shrink Tubing I used for this but know that different platens will take different sizes.
