Here is the Folio Society edition of Russian author Leo Tolstoy's classic realist novel 'Anna Karenina' first published in 1878.

ABOUT THE BOOK

"Widely regarded as a pinnacle in realist fiction, Tolstoy considered Anna Karenina his first true novel, after he came to consider War and Peace to be more than a novel. Fyodor Dostoyevsky declared it "flawless as a work of art." His opinion was shared by Vladimir Nabokov, who especially admired "the flawless magic of Tolstoy's style," and by William Faulkner, who described the novel as "the best ever written." " [1]

BINDING & PAPER

The book is quarter bound in buckram with "cloth" sides with gold details (that can fall off).
The headband is brown and the endpapers are green, the book is also of course smyth-sewn on acid-free neutral paper. It comes with a green coloured slip case.

CONTENT

The book is translated by Louise and Aylmer Maude, illustrated by Angela Barrett and introduced by Helen Dunmore.
