Trip Report | AMAZING First Flight on REX Regional Express (ECONOMY) | Sydney - Brisbane | B737-800

G'Day,
Around mid-April, Kevin from Wellington Flights Live was soon to fly to Australia for his holiday, where he'd spend a week in Queensland, and a weekend in Sydney to do some Plane Spotting streams. Long story short, I was invited to attend an ever growing spotterpalooza event in Sydney over the weekend of May 3rd - 5th to do some Plane Spotting. I flew back to Brisbane with Regional Expres (Rex) as I'd had the airline on my bucket-list for a while, and this was the perfect opportunity to fly with them!

A little history on our Aircraft (VH-8JS) -
8 Juliet Sierra (8JS) was ordered new by Silkair and rolled off the production line in February 2014. It was entered onto the Singapore Registration of 9V-MGB and was accepted by Silkair in March 2014. Silkair then ceased operations in March 2020 and MGB was withdrawn from service, repainted, and transferred to Singapore Airlines. MGB was again withdrawn from service in May of 2022. 16 months later, MGB began the transfer process to Rex in September of 2023, gaining the Australian Registration of VH-8JS. That month, 8JS was delivered to Rex touching down in Brisbane, and two weeks later, entered revenue service.
