Cello Scale Cycle Exercise for Beginners | Part I, Long Tones

Описание к видео Cello Scale Cycle Exercise for Beginners | Part I, Long Tones

Happy #CelloTipTuesday, my dolls! For this week's video I have a scale cycle exercises for beginner cellists that spans one octave and covers C, G & D major! If you're revisiting this video, the exercise begins at 4:31! 👌🏻
Having a scale warmup routine is very important, and this exercise also focuses on long tones and your tone quality. In addition to the play along, I also offer some tips on how to make the most use of your bow while playing this cycle!

Here is the exercise written out, in addition to the intro I provide in the video. We begin with C major, but as you get comfortable you can keep this pattern and start on a different key for variety & an extra challenge:
-C major: One whole note per bow
-G major: Slurred half note pairs (repeating the note as you change bow)
-D major: Slurred half note pairs (changing the note as you change bow)
-C major: One dotted half note per bow
-G major: One half note, followed by 2 slurred quarter notes
-D major: Two slurred quarter notes, followed by one half note.
-C major: Four slurred quarter notes per bow
