Whether you love midrange or scoop it into oblivion, there is no denying that your mids are where most of the character of your guitar lives.
But heres the thing; I don't love Tubescreamers. I am not a hater like some, but I just don't find it to be the style of mid boost I ever reach for. Burt I spend more time sculpting the midrange presence of my guitars than I do on any other set of frequency bands and, more often than not, that means mixing with classic Pultec EQ tools like the MEQ5 and the EQP1. They're classics for a reason and. when I found out that Origin was releasing an overdrive built around the MEQ5 I was elated. This is, all on it's own, a great drive circuit with a wonderfully balanced tone control. But the mid control? Thats the sauce that really makes this the most versatile mid focused drive Ive played.
