Venture Cars Enter Service on Amtrak San Joaquins

December 21st, 2023, The day has finally arrived for Amtrak San Joaquins' "New" Siemens Ventures to enter revenue service after many setbacks in the last couple years and a month's worth of testing & preparation. Shortly before sunrise, CDTX 2101 leads the deadhead down to street run through Jack London Square for Oakland/Jack London station. After boarding its passengers, Amtrak 710 departs the station on time bound for Bakersfield with F40NPCU 90218 (CDTX 90218) at the lead.
Arriving a little late into Martinez due to PTC issues is the new train to board more passengers at the station then continuing its journey South to Bakersfield, California.
With this, Amtrak San Joaquins is the first rail company/rail operator to use the car type on th west coast of the United States and first in the state of California. Congratulations to everyone at Amtrak/Amtrak San Joaquins on this exciting achievement.
