The first man made structure, built by neolithic man 12,000 years ago lies in the fertile crescent of Mesopotamia, present day Turkey. It has only recently been discovered after lying, buried for the last 10,000 years.

It represents mankinds transition from neolithic hunter gatherers to settled agriculturalists. This settled society was able to create the time and the skills to construct such a complex ceremonial site.

Many concentric circles of T-shaped pillars, representing the human form were carved out of limestone rock. Images of animals and humans are carved into the stone. This was done with flint tools. The workmanship is impressive considering the era it was completed in.

This has to be one the greatest wonders of the world. How it is not a more popular tourist site is astounding!! It is virtually unheard of.
