Islam Makhachev is on the brink of making history in the UFC lightweight division.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev is set to make his fourth title defense next month at UFC 311 against No. 1 contender Arman Tsarukyan.
"Islam Makhachev" has been tipped to move through the divisions and become a world champion 30lb up from where he currently holds the belt.

Makhachev has been a dominant champion at 155lb, and could break the divisional record for title defenses if he beats Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 311.

Islam Ramazanovich Makhachev is a Russian professional mixed martial artist and former sambo competitor. He currently competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the current UFC Lightweight Champion.[8]

Makhachev has competed professionally since 2010, along with becoming a combat sambo world champion in 2016
