The INSAS webinar eHALOPH and the economic uses of salt-tolerant plants took place virtually on February 13, 2024. The webinar is the second in a series of webinars organized by the International Network of Salt-Affected Soils of the Global Soil Partnership, an initiative which is aimed at raising awareness on sustainable management of salt-affected soils for food security, agricultural sustainability and climate change mitigation. During this interactive webinar, the leading experts on halophytes will discuss the complex interplay between human activities and the natural salt cycle, describe eHALOPH (https://ehaloph.uc.pt) and the data it stores, provide a live demonstration of its use and describe how it can be used to list the economic uses of salt-tolerant plants. Finally, the examples of halophytes moving from wild species to farm and to the table are demonstrated
