Описание к видео How to install the CarBone AC panel dedicated for Porsche cars - models 964/993?

Here is a quick video showing how to properly mount the CarBone AC front panel to the main unit in your classic Porsche car. Our AC panel fits perfectly the 964 and 993 models. It's available in two variants: standard for OEM dashboard and backdate designed to be fitted to our dash trim.

You can find the step by step description how to plug in both variants below.

AC Panel OEM Installation Instruction:

Open the package with your new panel.
Remove the AC panel.
Remove the removal tools from the bottom of the packaging.
Use the removal tools to remove your original panel by inserting them into the round holes on the left and right sides of the climate control unit.
You don't have to remove the entire unit, just slide it out to have access to the front part.
Separate the front panel from the whole computer by levering the 3 pins on the top and 3 on the bottom.
Slide out the front panel and disconnect the plug from the socket.
Connect the plug to the socket of the new panel and reassemble everything in the reverse order.

AC Panel Backdate Installation Manual:

Open the package with your new panel.
Remove the AC Panel.
Remove the removal tools and other parts from the bottom of the package.
Go back to the CarBone backdate panel. Take a picture of the front part of the unit. The order of the knobs is crucial. Pull out the 3 large knobs and the scale parts.
Unscrew 3 small knobs and 3 rosettes.
Take the upholstered dash trim to mount the new panel in it.
Put the AC panel from the back of the dash trim and position the knobs’ mounting points in the right places.
Screw in the threaded rosettes onto the small buttons, thanks to which the panel will hold steady in the dash trim.
Glue the scale parts directly to the dash trim in the following order: for LHD 9-6-4; for RHD 4-6-9. Cyanoacrylate glue is recommended.
Glue the small and large knobs using thread-locking fluid.
a) Small knobs - leave a slight gap between the knobs and rosettes (approx. 1mm).
b) Large knobs - find the middle position of the rotary switches in the panel. Slide the knobs, with the pointers up on the graphics, all the way so the knobs sit tight but still allow for smooth rotation.
In a separate bag, there are 3 additional tubes (1 aluminum ring and 2 plastic tubes) to connect the temperature sensor.
Put the plastic tube through the back of the ac panel.
Put the aluminum ring on the tube, on the front side of the dash trim.
Glue the plastic tube (a larger one) to the smaller one, from point 16. The large tube connects the rubber sleeve on the main unit.
Connect the plug to the socket.
The dash trim equipped with the ac panel is ready to be installed now.
