Amrita Doshi is the Co-Founder and Founding Executive Director of South Asian SOAR. Like many, she came to this work as a survivor. Her journey began as an intern at Sakhi for South Asian Survivors and later spanned public health, health tech, and community-centered design across the U.S. and India. At SOAR, Amrita has built a national network of 50 organizations and over 200 survivors and allies, and has led groundbreaking initiatives—including the first South Asian survivor storytelling anthology, original research publications, advocacy campaigns, and the first-ever fund dedicated to South Asian anti-violence organizations.

Aparna Bhattacharyya has been involved with Raksha, Inc in Atlanta Georgia as a volunteer in 1995 and has been the Executive Director of Raksha, Inc in Atlanta, Georgia, since 1998. Much of Aparna’s work is focused on gender-based violence in immigrant communities and providing training on the needs of underserved communities She has been recognized as a 2013 White House Champion of Change and is proud of her advocacy work to ensure regulations passed under VAWA 2005 for H4 Abused spouses were implemented and finally made available for South Asian survivors to access this relief. She has the distinction of being the longest-serving Executive Director of a South Asian organization addressing gender based violence. Aparna is a founder and Advisory Board Member of South Asian SOAR and board treasurer of API-GBV.
