Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio Weather Impact forecast for Dec. 29, 2025: Cold air has settled in along with snow and gusty winds. The NWS has issued High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories for all of the area through Tuesday morning. Winds have reached 'Severe Thunderstorm' limits — greater than 58-mph gusts. This is strong enough to knockout power and blow down trees. It will also mean low visibility and issues with blowing snow.

Snow, heavy at times, will be around through the evening commute. Plan on needing extra time and take it easy as you go. Conditions could change rapidly. Everyone has a chance for some snow this evening before the focus shifts to more lake effect snow overnight. Additional accumulation will be possible, especially for snowbelt areas.

Those snowbelt areas also have winter weather advisories and lake snow warnings in place through at least part of Tuesday. Accumulations could reach 3-7 inches where lake-effect bands persist.

Lake-effect snow will taper off as we get into Tuesday morning. Generally drier for most on that morning drive. Snow potential does return through the evening and overnight.
